Yogic Numerology helps us discover and understand the power of the numbers that mark our entry to this life. Our personal numerology reveals the power present and available to us when we are ready to receive the blessings raining on us.
Yogic Numerology is based on and understood through the Ten Bodies. By calculating five numbers from your birth date you will receive a reading about the path you have this lifetime and what challenges and gifts you can learn to integrate and receive to experience your true destiny.
The Numerology is interpreted using the numbers 1 – 11. The numbers 1-10 correspond to one of our 10 bodies; 11 is the 11th embodiment or the place of mastery. The numbers 1 – 7 also correspond with our chakra system. At first we may relate primarily with our physical body, mind, and spirit. However, there are many other aspects of ourselves waiting to share vital energetic information with us about how to be happy, healthy, and whole.
The SOUL number: The soul number indicates your relationship with your own soul, with your inner self and the source of your creativity. This number is completely inner-directed and is the core of your identity. This number will be in a challenge position.
The KARMA number: The karma number indicates your relationship with others. It indicates blockages to effective communication with others and explains the challenge your Soul came to experience in this lifetime. It is your “test” in this life – so guess what? Yep it’s in a challenge position!
The GIFT number: The gift number shows your natural gift. It is the thing that comes to you effortlessly. Your natural talent. It is God-given and needs no work from you. While in the strength position, the catch here is that you must have sufficient self-esteem and elevation to graciously accept your gift in order to use it.
The DESTINY number: The destiny number indicates the thing you have worked on for many lifetimes and have mastered. It indicates how OTHERS see you. You may not yourself this way, but others perceive you in this way and it shows in everything you do. This number is in the strength position but you may have to develop your awareness of it to fully receive the strength it provides you.
The PATH number: The path number shows the thing you must do in this lifetime in order to feel fulfilled. It is the path you must walk in order to feel that you are successful…to feel that you have done the thing you came here to do. It will tell you why you are on this planet at this time otherwise you will always feel that “something is missing” from your life.
Go here to get your Numerology Reading – The numbers will be calculated for you but if you wanted to calculate it manually this is how you would do it: Write the birth date clearly and keep summing the numbers until they are reduced to 1 and 11.
Soul Number: Sum of both day numbers (d+d).
Karma Number: Sum of both month numbers (m+m).
Gift Number: Sum of the decade (last two digits of the year) (y+y). For example, the gift number for a birth year of 1975 is 7 + 5 = 12; 1 + 2 = 3.
Destiny Number: Sum of all four digits of the year (y+y+y+y).
Path Number: Sum of all the numbers in your birth date (m+m+d+d+y+y+y+y). Note this number is equal to the sum of the Soul, Karma, and Destiny numbers.
Working with the Ten Bodies
Kundalini Yoga, with its systemized kriyas, works to balance and activate the ten bodies. A regular practice of Kundalini Yoga is a comprehensive way to work on all ten bodies at once. For example, the “Awakening to Your Ten Bodies” kriya.
If you are aware of a weakness or imbalance in one particular body, you can focus on strengthening and balancing that body using multiple tools of Kundalini Yoga: choosing a meditation that focuses on that body and / or chanting mantras associated with that body.
